Luke 4:18

​"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,"

​Volunteers are the heart of the LCJ Ministry and they strive to provide hope and direction through compassion, listening, and spiritual guidance.

 What Do We Do?

​Luke 4:18 tells us we are sent to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the prisoners, that they may be set free. Lawrence County Jail Ministry emphasizes that freedom begins in the heart. Once a person has been liberated from the bondage of sin, staying out of jail comes easily and naturally. True freedom comes through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Every week we get to see hearts touched and lives changed by the good news of Jesus Christ.
